Many inspirational women have taken center stage as powerful leaders. While these women set a great example, it is also a fact that their road to success has often not been an easy one.

Unfortunately, issues and barriers related to unconscious bias, gender inequality, lack of equal opportunities, discrimination still exist.

We are leaving a lot of money on the table by allowing the gender gap to continue. I believe we all have a responsibility to address these hurdles and drive a dialogue for gender equality. Multiple studies have pointed out that by encouraging and promoting female leadership an organization can increase gender equality in the workforce which can and will, in turn, drive better business results.

In order to narrow the gender gap and start reaping the economic benefits of gender parity it is important to learn how to recognize gender inequality. Gender inequality is for example:

➡️ Unequal pay

➡️ Unequal treatment

➡️ Uneven access to training

➡️ Uneven career opportunities

➡️ Unequal representation on boards and leadership teams
